Accessibility
This platform is intended to be usable by as many people as possible, whatever their abilities or the technology they use.
Standard
This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What has been done
- Pages use semantic HTML, with a logical heading structure, landmarks and a link to skip to the main content.
- Everything can be operated with a keyboard, including the interactive framework diagram. Use Tab to reach it, the arrow keys to move between dimensions, and Home and End to move to the first and last.
- Text and interface colours meet WCAG AA contrast requirements. The palette’s lightest greys are used only for rules and drawings, never for small text.
- Images and drawings have text alternatives, and every diagram is accompanied by the same information as text.
- Motion is minimal, and transitions are switched off when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Text can be enlarged to 200% without loss of content, and layouts adapt to small screens.
- The site works without JavaScript. Interactive features enhance content that is already in the page.
Known limitations
- Linked external documents, such as newspaper articles, publisher pages and PDFs, are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
- The editorial interface used by editors is third-party software (Decap CMS) and is not covered by this statement.
Feedback
If you encounter a barrier, please tell us through the Contact page, describing the page and the problem.
