Purpose

This platform represents a living philosophy and its originator. Readers should be able to tell, for every text, where it comes from and how much weight it can bear. Every substantial text on the site therefore carries a provenance label, and every factual statement is linked to a source.

Provenance labels

Published source. A statement, quotation or record taken from a published and cited source. Quotations are reproduced exactly, with a link to the original wherever possible.

Editorial summary. A summary written by the platform’s editors from cited sources. It aims to represent those sources faithfully, but it is not itself a statement by the founder.

Proposed. A draft statement, such as a mission or a vision, put forward for discussion. It has no official status until it has been approved.

Founder-approved. Text approved by the founder for publication on this platform.

Interpretation. Editorial interpretation or critical commentary. It represents the editors’ reading and is offered for discussion.

Content that is awaiting the founder’s approval is marked as such alongside its label.

Sources and citations

Citations follow the author–date system of The Chicago Manual of Style. Every citation links to a full record with a persistent address. Quotations are checked against the original publication before they are published. Where published sources disagree, on a date, a name or a location for example, the discrepancy is noted rather than silently resolved.

What we do not publish

We do not publish quotations, manifestos, endorsements or affiliations that cannot be attributed to a source; invented projects, results, awards or biographical details; or images presented as documentation of places or projects they do not show.

Images

Every image carries a credit and alternative text. Drawings made for the platform are labelled as original editorial drawings. Abstract plates that accompany projects are not representations of those projects. Photographs and drawings of projects are published only with the permission of their authors.

Approval

The public statement of the philosophy, the founder’s profile and the platform’s branding, including the tagline ‘Understanding Context. Reimagining Futures.’, require the founder’s approval. Until it is given, the site is marked as a pre-publication edition.
