Abstract
According to the published reports of the workshop, the lecture presented New Contextualism as a potential response to the limitations of contemporary architectural practice, seeking a balance between universal and particular design elements. It set out the approach’s principles: forward-looking design informed by accurate predictions of the future; a profound understanding of historical trends; recognition of the diverse and extensive nature of context; and a focus on equity and justice through inclusive and diverse designs.
